In her role as the Energy Transformation Technology Leader at GE Research, Wei works closely with a cross-business team to shape GE's decarbonization strategy in energy transition and the future of flight. To drive the strategy forward, Wei develops technology programs in Carbon Capture & Sequestration, Hydrogen, Sustainable Fuels. In her role as the Inclusion & Diversity leader, Wei defines I&D priorities and drives actions to make sustainable changes in D&I at GE Research.
Prior to her current role, Wei was the Technology Director of Functional Materials since 2017 where she led a team of material scientists & engineers, chemists, physicists, and chemical engineers to develop innovative material and engineering solutions, including ceramic matrix composites and optical materials.
Wei joined GE Research as a research scientist in 2003 and has held many leadership roles before she became the General Manager of GE Research Shanghai from 2011 to 2014 and then Business Program Manager (BPM) for Water and Power from 2014 to 2017.
Wei has a PhD in Material Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  Wei has more than 40 U.S. patents filed and has authored over 10 journal articles. Wei is on leadership roles for GE Women's Network and GE Asian Pacific Allies and Families.  She serves on the Awards committee of the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE).
